Principal's Welcome

Husky Families,
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying a restful summer. As the principal of North High School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the start of the 2025-26 school year. We are excited to have your family as part of our school community and look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and achievement.
This year, we are proud to welcome approximately 1,550 students to North High School. Our dedicated staff has been working diligently to prepare for the upcoming school year, and we are eager to see our students return to the classrooms. School will officially begin on Tuesday, September 2nd, and we are ready to embark on this new academic journey together.
At North High School, we have set two important goals for the 2025-26 school year. First, we aim to ensure that 100% of our students are on track for graduation. We believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and we are committed to providing the support and resources necessary to help them achieve this milestone. Second, we are focused on increasing the number of students meeting readiness on the ACT by 5% each year. This goal reflects our dedication to preparing students for college, career, and community success.
To help you and your child navigate the school year, we have compiled a list of helpful things to know about North High School:
- Freshman Support: Freshman students are intentionally programmed within the freshman team to support their transition to high school. This approach helps them learn the skills they need to be successful and build connections with other students and the school. It is the foundation for success as a Husky.
- Counselor Support: Your child's counselor serves a main point of contact for families. High school counselors can assist with academic planning, college and career guidance, social and emotional support, and any other concerns that may arise during the school year.
- Attendance Matters: Strong attendance will help students feel connected to school, perform well academically, and prepare them for college and the workplace. We encourage all students to attend school regularly and take advantage of the opportunities available to them.
- Get Involved: We encourage students to become involved in school through activities, athletics, and other extracurricular programs. Participation in these activities helps students develop important life skills, build friendships, and enhance their overall high school experience.
We believe that a strong partnership between the school and families is essential for student success. We encourage you to stay engaged with your child's education, attend school events, and communicate regularly with teachers and staff. Together, we can create a supportive and enriching environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.
As we prepare for the start of the school year, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Our team is here to support you and your child every step of the way. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead and to celebrating the achievements of our students.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Sincerely,

Kimberly Koller
Principal
