Eau Claire North High School: A Tradition of Pride and Excellence

Founded in 1962, Eau Claire North High School is one of two public high schools in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The school was established to serve the growing population on the north side of the city. Over the years, North High School has expanded and renovated its facilities to meet the evolving needs of its students. Significant additions include the Auto Shop in 1973, the Music and Tech Ed addition in 1975, and the new gymnasium, known as the "Doghouse," in 1981. More recent upgrades include the auditorium and office/commons renovations in 2000, and the relocation of Student Services in 2012.

Academically, North High School offers a comprehensive curriculum with a strong emphasis on Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Students can take AP classes in subjects such as English, art, music, science, social sciences, and math, with nearly half of the student body participating in these rigorous courses. The school is also known for its vibrant music program, which includes band, orchestra, and choir, with groups available at all skill levels. The competitive show choir, "Northernaires," and the jazz band have earned accolades at various competitions. In athletics, North High School competes in the Big Rivers Conference and has achieved notable success, including state championships in boys' baseball and girls' hockey
